Accomodation

Packhorse Cottage is a nod back to the past, with the walls having been decorated by the shepherds with mustering times and notes to each other, some dating back to 1941.

The master bedroom has 1 King bed with bespoke LHS linen.

The second bedroom is home to Super King bed and a set of bunks. It makes for an ideal spot for a family or a couples retreat.

The kitchen is a chef's dream and the sprawling deck is the perfect spot to bask in the Central Otago sun or enjoy a BBQ at the end of a day spent adventuring.

Catering

At the heart of your culinary experience is Archery & Co, the creative force behind Lake Hāwea Station’s renowned kitchen. Known for their  passion for wild food and deep connection to the land, Archery & Co crafts chef-prepared gourmet meals that celebrate the best of New Zealand’s high-country flavours.

From wild red venison to foraged herbs and locally grown produce, each dish is a reflection of the place and season — thoughtful, hearty, and deeply satisfying.

Guests are welcomed with a seasonal hamper, filled with robust local ingredients that hint at what's to come.

Whether it’s a fireside dinner under the stars or a shared feast back at the lodge, every meal is part of the story. It’s not just food — it’s an extension of the land, the hunt, and the warmth of high-country hospitality.

After a long day in the hills, you’ll return to hearty, chef-crafted dishes that celebrate the day’s effort — rich flavours, local ingredients, and the kind of satisfaction only earned through a full day on foot.
